The History of Bocar
The Bocar was a sportscar that was produced between 1957-1961. It was developed by Bob Carnes in Lakewood, Colorado. There were several (four?) prototypes of the car until Carnes had finalized his design on the "Bocar XP-5".
The Bocar XP-5 weighed in at 1,900 lbs. and was powered by a 290 horsepower 283. Some of the them were fitted with roots blown 283 making them over 500 horsepower. All the cars were assembled by hand. Although the number of cars actually produced is unknown, it is speculated that less than 50 were ever built. There are only a handful of Bocar's still in existance today.
Carnes had also produced another model, the Bocar Stiletto. About a half a dozen were made, and only 4 exist as of today.
