The History of Standard

View Standard Model Histories | Discuss in our Standard Forum | Back to History Overview

The Standard was made in Butler,Pa., USA by the Standard Steel Car Co., a mfr. of rail cars. Our car club has a closed car from 1922 that runs and we just acquired an open car to be restored. The Frick Auto Museum in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA also has an open car but it doesn't run. The cars were only made for a few years. They have a V8 engine and are heavy.
